2026 Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler Motorhomes Recalled for Unexpected Generator Ignition

Recall Alert: Potential Fire Hazard in 2026 Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler Motorhomes Due to Unexpected Generator Ignition

REV Recreation Group, in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA Recall ID 26V264), has issued a significant safety recall affecting several 2026 model year motorhomes under the Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler brands.

The Defect: Unintended Generator Operation

The defect centers on a component within the generator control system that can malfunction. This malfunction may cause the generator to start unexpectedly and continue operating, even when the owner hasn’t initiated it and the motorhome is unoccupied or parked.

Severe Safety Risks and Fire Hazard

An unexpectedly operating generator presents severe safety risks, primarily the danger of fire. Generators generate significant heat, and if one ignites unattended in a storage area or while parked in close proximity to flammable materials (such as dried foliage, other vehicles, or buildings), a catastrophic fire can result. The consequences can include extensive property damage, serious personal injury, and even death. The risk is significantly heightened when the motorhome is stored or parked for extended periods.

NHTSA Recommendation: Park Outside Until Repaired

Because of the potential for fire, the NHTSA and REV Recreation Group strongly recommend that owners of affected motorhomes park their vehicles outside, away from structures and other vehicles, until the recall remedy is performed.

Affected Vehicles and Remedy

The recall impacts 2026 model year Fleetwood Bounder, Flair, and Fortis motorhomes, as well as 2026 Holiday Rambler Admiral and Vacationer motorhomes. REV Recreation Group will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the defective component free of charge. Owners with questions are advised to contact REV Recreation Group customer service or visit the NHTSA recall look-up website.
